根据彭博社的报道，房地产行业，不仅是加拿大经济中的重要贡献力量，同时房地产也是数百万加拿大人的主要财富来源，作为固定资产的重要组成部分。然而，对于房市的担忧正在撼动整个加国的消费者信心。

加拿大央行今天维持利率维持0.25％不变。央行表示，预计最糟糕的情况是第二季度经济萎缩高达30％。

央行表示，此次和COVID-19相关的经济下滑将是有史以来最严重的一次。加拿大统计局周三的初步数据显示，3月份经济活动全面崩溃，跌幅达到创纪录的9％。

 BC省房地产协会（BCREA）也根据目前的形势及未来发展趋势，对加拿大按揭利率和经济进行了一些展望和预测。

周三加拿大央行宣布降息50个基准点，不少房地产业内分析指出，这将会对已经开始反弹的加拿大房市火上浇油。

然而，央行行长Poloz在周四的演讲中重申了降息的出发点，并分析指出，降息只会稳定加拿大的房地产，不会造成房地产泡沫。

3月3日，周二一早，美联储突然宣布将紧急降息50个百分点。

这是美国历史上自2008年经济危机以来，第一次不在计划内的调息、而且是最大幅度的降息。

The city features high density residential areas, major commercial town centres, rapid transit, high technology research and business parks, film production studios such as The Bridge Studios, TV stations such as Global TV and comprehensive industrial estates.
